Officials of the Ministry of Finance, Civil Society, Media Practitioners, and other stakeholders in the preparation of the Country’s national Budget on Tuesday 27th September 2022 unanimously approved the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority, SLRSA, Annual Budget for 2023 at the ongoing Budget Hearings in the Conference Room of the Ministry of Finance, George Street, Freetown.
The unanimous approval was given following an impressive PowerPoint presentation of the Authority’s Annual performance, challenges, and projection for 2023 to the audience by the Executive Director, Reverend Smart K Senesie, and the Finance Director, Mr. Joseph H Momoh.
The Presentation highlighted some of the major achievements of the Authority during the 2022 financial year including the establishment of a training school for the training of Automobile Technicians, the Setting up of Ultra Modern Vehicle Fitness Centres across the Country, the establishment of a New Regional Office in the Northwestern Region, improvement of the Security features of both the Drivers license and Vehicle Number plates, establishment of an impound yard for the towing of abandoned vehicles and the review of the road traffic act and regulations.
The Executive Director proudly disclosed that the Authority’s projection for 2023 is 108 billion. He added that the Authority’s contribution to the Road Maintenance Fund would increase from over 9 billion to 10.8 billion.
Members of the Budget Hearing were pleased with the presentation and applauded the SLRSA to continue with the good work.
