Kafe’s Chiefdom Hardit Strikers FC based in Tonkolili District have reached the last six of the 2022 Dr Ernest Bai Koroma Trophy eliminating Area Best Football Club on aggregates 3-0.
Hardit Strikers Football Club confirmed a last six spot in their maiden appearance in the EBK Trophy following a 2-0 away win over their counterparts in the return leg encounter at the Makeni Wusum field on Friday, 25th of November 2022.
Samuel Koroma who scored the only goal in the first leg also breaks the deadlock during the return leg in the 30 minutes and Alex Koroma double the lead to 2-0 in the 35 minutes before the recess.
Speaking to NewsFeed Sierra Leone after the game, Hardit Strikers FC Head Coach, Sulaiman Sankoh expressed optimism about winning the trophy, “I am here to win the EBK Trophy not just to eliminate Area Best, as you see the turnout of the fans, is because they believe the team can produce what they want and I have to say thanks to my boys” he vowed.
Sankoh, who had led the Hardit Strikers FC to four finals and won three on the run, between March and November 2022 anticipated more noting, “the stakeholders’ support is overwhelming and the fans are always ready to follow the team, we are special and on our first appearance at the EBK more surprising result for the doubters because I believe we are going to win the Trophy,” he challenged.
