The only female candidate for the ruling SLPP symbol in constituency 013 in Kenema district is Mrs. Naomi Moiba. The constituency is comprised of Tunkia and Momo chiefdoms in the district.
Making her declaration for the SLPP symbol at Giegbema town court barry in Tunkia chiefdom Kenema district, Naomi Moiba commonly known as MAMI NA POWER FOR ALL, thanked all and sundry for gracing the occasion in their numbers, which shows that Tunkia and Nomo chiefdoms love the SLPP and herself, adding her victory is not for her and her immediate family alone but the entire Tunkia and Nomo chiefdoms.
She said whatever development activities she will be bringing to the community is not done by her alone but by the entire constituency.
Talking about herself, she disclosed that she was born at 1 Makieu Street in Kenema city, but hailed from Kondorwahun village in the Tunkia chiefdom Kenema district. Attended the Holy Rosary Primary school at Dama Road where she sat to the Common Entrance examination and continued her secondary school education in Freetown at the Government Independence Memorial secondary school in Freetown, where she sat to the GCE ‘O’ level and did her Sixth form at the Albert Academy.
She proceeded to the School of nursing and came out as a State Registered Nurse (SRN), later went in for Public Health at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMHAS). Just after the EBOLA scourge, she went to Njala University to pursue her BSc. Hon in Nursing.
She described herself as an Advocator for the masses, a team worker, Mentor for young girls, and a battlefront Commander that survived EBOLA. (Ref: Google Naomi Makieu)
She went to the UK for sometimes and upon returning to Sierra Leone, she worked as a Matron at Choithram hospital in Freetown, as a Matron at Sierra Rutile, and also worked as a Matron at UBC hospital in Mattru Jong as leader Case Management Team during EBOLA.
Mrs. Naomi Moiba nee Makieu is married with three children.
‘Mami na power for all’ is now a household name in constituency 013 in Kenema district, majority referred to her as a force to reckon with, and has no march at the moment in the constituency.
Most of the participants at the ceremony in their statement called on the SLPP stakeholders to award symbol to Naomi as the choice for the majority for now, adding they believed that she will continue to change the narrative for them in terms of development for all.
The cultural performance climaxed the declaration ceremony.
