Sierra Leonean UK-US based Elena Alice Tiande young female lawn tennis athletes displayed exceptional talent at the female singles and doubles matches of the All African Games in Accra, Ghana.
Despite a narrow loss in the doubles, 10-12 in a super tie-break against Kenya’s Angela and Cinthia, their performances were outstanding, highlighting their potential.
Competing against doubles champion Angela Okutoyi from Kenya and challenging her in the match underscores their capability to excel in tennis at the highest level.
Both Elena and Sierra have brought pride to Sierra Leone, and we commend them for representing their country admirably. We pledge our support for their tennis journey and pray for their continued success.
We extend heartfelt thanks to the parents (Mr. Tungie Asgill and Mr. Felix Michael Sandy) in England and the United States for their steadfast support. The sky is their limit. We are looking forward to more international events where we can participate and represent Sierra Leone.
