The Aberdeen Football Community Executive has strongly condemned any form of violence in football, emphasizing their commitment to promoting sportsmanship and unity both on and off the field, which is called for in the game of football.
The unfortunate incident that occurred at the Central One Football Association League match between Aberdeen Community and Fourah Bay Community on August 24th, 2024, at the Parade playing field was not associated with the Aberdeen Community Football Supporters. The commotion was sparked by individuals, which they believe was a result of bad officiating by the COFA referee and fans of the Dokorty Community.
One of the Executive Members, Babatunde Sesay, of the Aberdeen Football Community, stated, We are strongly committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all players, coaches, officials, and fans.
Despite the incident, the Aberdeen Community has already qualified for the round 16 of the Central One Football Association Inter Champions League No to Violence and No to Drugs. Aberdeen Community is urging the organizers to ensure adequate security measures are in place at each match, as dignitaries, scouts, and managers are expected to attend the games, and some players have even been spotted for potential selection to the national team, the Leone Stars.
The Aberdeen Football Community’s stance on promoting sportsmanship and unity in the sport serves as a model for other communities and organizations to follow as they work to create a positive and safe environment for all involved in the beautiful game.
