Sierra Leone’s home-based team is gearing up for a crucial double-header against their rivals, Liberia, in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 preliminary qualifiers. The matches, scheduled between October 27th and November 1st, 2024, will determine which team secures a spot in the second preliminary qualifying round, where Senegal awaits the winner.

The CHAN tournament, exclusively for players who ply their trade in their respective domestic leagues, holds immense significance for the nations involved. Both Sierra Leone and Liberia will be eager to showcase their homegrown talent and secure a place in the prestigious competition.

The upcoming fixtures promise to be highly competitive, as the two West African nations have a long-standing football rivalry. Sierra Leone, led by their seasoned coach, will be looking to capitalize on the home advantage and secure a favorable result, while Liberia, known for their passionate fan base, will be determined to cause an upset and advance to the next round.

The winner of this preliminary round will face a formidable challenge in the form of Senegal, who will be aiming to continue their strong CHAN performance after their recent success in the African Cup of Nations. The path to the CHAN 2024 tournament promises to be a thrilling journey, and these opening matches between Sierra Leone and Liberia are sure to set the tone for the upcoming qualifiers.
