The Executive Chairman of Bo Rangers Football Club, Babadi Kamara, has made a significant contribution to the Pujehun District Football Association (PDFA) by donating one hundred and fifty New Leones (NLe 150,000) to support the Inter-Chiefdom Football Competition.
The competition, which officially kicked off at the Pujehun DC Playing Field on Saturday, November 2, 2024, was met with a warm welcome from the people of Pujehun and a delegation of key football stakeholders, including chairmen of district and regional football associations.
Alphan Konneh, the chairman of the Pujehun District Football Association, expressed his gratitude to Babadi Kamara for the generous contribution, emphasizing the importance of the competition in unifying the 14 chiefdoms in the district and nurturing young talents. Konneh also seized the opportunity to appeal to Babadi Kamara to support the completion of the District FA’s building project, which has been stalled due to financial constraints.
Babadi Kamara, in his remarks, expressed his gratitude to the people of the district and highlighted the importance of fair play, good behavior, and staying away from violence and drug abuse in football. He also shared his vision for football development in the country, including projects like the construction of the Southern Arena, which aim to contribute to the growth of football and are not meant for personal gains.
As a gesture of his commitment to the competition, Babadi Kamara presented 45 footballs to the participating teams, further cementing his status as a true football philanthropist in Sierra Leone.
