In a thrilling match-up, Sierra Leone’s Featherweight Boxing Champion Josefien Angel Betist emerged victorious at the prestigious AFBC Solidarity and Fraternity Boxing Bout, organized by the Tunisian Boxing Federation. Betist faced off against the host nation’s champion, Amal Mathloifi, in a fiercely contested bout on January 24th, 2025.
The Sierra Leonean boxer had previously faced disappointment, losing in the round of 16 at the All African Games and the Olympic Qualifiers in Thailand. However, Betist seized the opportunity to redeem herself, representing her country with pride in Tunis.
