Dr. Hawa Senesie, a distinguished alumna of Port Loko Catholic Secondary School, has made a significant contribution by donating a brand-new brass band to the school. The full set of instruments, valued at over 90,000 Leones, was acquired through the coordination of Principal of the Junior Secondary School (JSS).
The brass band was officially handed over to the Catholic Old Students Association (COSA), which later presented it to the school administration in a formal ceremony. This initiative aims to enhance students’ engagement in musical activities and extracurricular programs.
Prior to this donation, Dr. Senesie had also contributed 30,000 Leones to COSA to support the rehabilitation of the Junior Secondary School, reaffirming her unwavering dedication to her alma mater.
Dr. Hawa Senesie attended Port Loko Catholic Secondary School before enrolling at Fourah Bay College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Sociology. She later moved to the United States, where she pursued and obtained a BSc and MSN (Master of Science in Nursing).
Furthering her studies, she enrolled at Chamberlain University and Nova Southeastern University, where she attained a Doctorate in Nursing. Sources indicate that Dr. Senesie is the first student in her school to achieve this prestigious qualification, marking a historic milestone.
Currently, she serves as a Nurse Practitioner at Harmony Medical Transitions, a well-respected medical facility in the United States.
The Catholic Old Students Association (COSA) and the entire Port Loko Catholic Secondary School community have expressed deep appreciation to Dr. Hawa Senesie for her continuous generosity and commitment to the school. Her contributions not only uplift the institution but also serve as a source of inspiration for young Sierra Leoneans, particularly female students, to strive for academic and professional excellence.
