The Mile 91 Police Station has arrested a section chief in Kholifa Mabang Chiefdom, Tonkolili District, Northern region, and he’s currently detained.
Pa Kapr Conteh was arrested on March 23rd, 2025, for allegedly helping a suspect wanted by the Sierra Leone Police to escape from detention.
The Sierra Leone Police is investigating a case of an alleged missing boy. Nine-year-old Mohamed Kamara disappeared in Marunia village around March 2024, and his whereabouts remain unknown.

Recently, the police declared one Abdul Saybom Bangura wanted. Bangura was the caretaker of the missing boy. He was declared a suspect after his WhatsApp audio declaring that he had pictures and videos where he handed over the boy to the former Regent Chief of Kholifa Mabang Chiefdom and his wife went viral.

Bangura was recently arrested in Makondu, a village near Mile 91. The police were preparing to transport the suspect from Mokondu to Mile 91 police station for investigation and possibly to charge him in court the following morning when news broke out that Bangura had escaped.
Investigations had it that Bangura’s escape was well-planned, and it was the chief who aided him.
The section chief was immediately arrested, and he’s helping the police in the investigation.

The Mile 91 Police Station says it is investigating the matter and will charge the matter if there’s a need by law. Meanwhile, the section chief is currently in detention.
