Sierra Leone Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh on Sunday, 30th March, 2025, joined Muslims in Bo City to observe the Eid-Ul-Fitr prayers at the Bo central praying field, New Site. In a brief address to the jamaat, the vice president encouraged the people of Bo to use the Eid prayer day and offered prayers for the country Sierra Leone; he reiterated that when people talked about a country, it meant the leader.

He told the people that God has given Sierra Leone a leader who is President Julius Maada Bio. He therefore encouraged the Imams and the jamaat to pray for President Bio for good health and long life. Vice President Jalloh thanked the board of imams in Bo and the southern region for giving him the opportunity to pray with the jamaat in Bo District. He also thanked the people of Bo for giving him the chance to pray in Bo. Alhaji Mohamed Mansaray, Chief Imam of Masjid Koroma at 169 Mahei Boima Road in Bo, officiated the Eid prayers at the central praying ground in Bo.

After the Eid Prayers, the Honorable Vice President made a courtesy visit to the Fullah, Mandingo, and Susu tribal heads in Bo City. During the visits, the Vice President met with tribal heads, stakeholders, and members of the various tribes. He thanked the stakeholders for organizing the various meetings and for the rousing welcome and respect accorded to him.

Vice President Jalloh informed the people that the country is stable and peaceful, and he attributed the stable peace to the leadership of Sierra Leone. He stimulated the people to pray for Sierra Leone and President Bio for good health and long life in order for the president to continue providing leadership for the country. He told the people that the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP)-led government has undertaken multiple developments nationwide; he assured them that the government will continue to spread developments across the country.

The vice president reflected on his support to the Susu Mosque for the renovation of the deteriorated roof some time ago. He therefore pledged to provide another help for the maintenance of the mosque as requested by the Tribal Head, Mustapha Sesay. If government scholarships are available, the vice president assured the three ethnic communities in Bo of one hajj ticket each.

In the late afternoon hours of Eid Prayday, the Vice President visited Kpetema Village in Bumpe Ngao Chiefdom, Bo District, to sympathize with victims of the recent fire disaster. Vice President Jalloh, on behalf of President Julius Maada Bio, extended his sympathy and pledged government intervention. He promised to engage critical ministries, departments, and agencies as well as the private sector to speed up relief efforts.

Dr. Jalloh assured the people to liaise with the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) for urgent response measures and the Ministry of Agriculture to assess and replace lost seedlings. He, on a personal note, committed to providing school materials for affected children, to be delivered through the Minister of Lands and Country Planning.

Paramount Chief Alfred Sovula Gandoma, in his welcome statement, appealed for assistance in rebuilding burnt houses with corrugated iron sheets to decrease future fire disasters. He further explained the destruction of seedlings, school materials, and others. Three hundred and twenty (320) people were affected, including pregnant women, lactating mothers, children, and a disabled person. Forty-eight (48) structures housing 94 households were destroyed.
