New England Ville, Freetown, April 14, 2025 — In the wake of a fire incident at the State House on Saturday, April 12, 2025, E-Fire Safety and Logistics Services held a timely demonstration of its advanced smoke detection and fire alarm systems for staff of the Ministry of Works and Public Assets (MWPA).
The demonstration, conducted at the Ministry’s main Conference Hall at New England Ville, brought together the leadership of the Ministry, senior management and technical staff to observe the company’s state-of-the-art fire safety technology. The system includes early smoke detection, real-time alarm alerts, centralized monitoring, and coordinated evacuation protocols — all designed to significantly enhance emergency preparedness within public institutions.
Speaking at the event, E-Fire Safety’s Director and Co-founder, Mr. Alpha B.H. Sheriff, said the demonstration aimed to address growing concerns about fire safety. “Our goal is to equip public facilities with technology that protects lives and property before a situation escalates,” he stated.
During the session, attendees participated in a live simulation showcasing the automatic activation of alarms and emergency responses triggered by simulated smoke.
Staff were also briefed on maintenance procedures and the integration of the system into existing infrastructure.
In her brief remarks, the Deputy Minister of Works and Public Assets, Mrs Christiana Queen Fofanah said, the demonstration is a clear indication that they need to take fire prevention seriously across all public institutions; adding that, the fire safety demonstration has not only raised awareness but also shown them the value of investing in smart, reliable fire safety systems to protect lives and national infrastructure.
The Minister of Works and Public Assets, Dr. Denis M. Sandy, praised the initiative and acknowledged the urgency of improving fire safety standards. “What happened at State House is a wake-up call for all of us. We must take proactive steps to prevent such incidents. This demonstration by E-Fire Safety shows us what’s possible with the right tools,” he said.
The Minister went on to state that, the fire incident at State House, which was brought under control with no reported injuries, has intensified calls for comprehensive fire risk assessments across all government facilities.
