In Makeni, Bombali District, a review meeting was held by the Peacebuilding Fund Secretariat (PBF), United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to assess a new peace-building programme involving bike riders.
Project leads, evaluators and local authorities met to examine both progress made and existing gaps. The initiative has transformed bike riders into community partners who help enhance safety and build public trust.
The riders say they want more support to develop skills and secure a sustainable future. They believe that with training and resources they will strengthen their role in the community.
The meeting marks a step forward in local peace efforts in Sierra Leone, showing how everyday workers can contribute to wider social change.
