The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has dismissed Sergeant 14483 Musa Sidikie Swarray, an officer attached to the Mile 91 Division under the Operational Support Division (OSD), for unlawful possession of Kush and other disciplinary offences. Swarray was found guilty of improper practice, conduct prejudicial to good order and discipline, and failure to comply with standing orders.
According to an official memorandum from the Director of Professional Standards at Police Headquarters, Hastings, the disciplinary action followed a formal hearing conducted under the Police Discipline Regulations of 2001. The case, registered as CDIID CR/NO: D-169-11-2025, centres on charges of incorrect practice and failure to comply with standing orders.
Swarray faced four counts of misconduct, and after a detailed review, the presiding officer found him guilty on all counts. The Director of Professional Standards upheld the decision, ordering Swarray’s immediate dismissal from the force.
“The defaulter is guilty on all four counts and is therefore dismissed from the Sierra Leone Police with immediate effect,” the memorandum stated.
The order also instructed the administrative officer at Mile 91 Division to retrieve all police-issued items, including Swarray’s identification card and badges of authority. The Human Resources Department has been directed to update personnel records to reflect the dismissal.
This dismissal demonstrates the SLP’s commitment to maintaining a professional, law-abiding force and sends a strong message that drug possession and other misconduct will not be tolerated.
