A tragic incident occurred in Gondama town, Kamaje Chiefdom, in the Southern District of Moyamba, on Thursday evening around 7:30 PM, resulting in the death of 27-year-old carpenter Francis Lavalie, allegedly at the hands of 30-year-old Mary Jalloh.
Eyewitnesses report that the confrontation began as an argument over the behaviour of Mary Jalloh’s children, involving Madam Luba, Francis’s mother. As tensions escalated, the dispute shifted focus to Mary and Madam Luba. Eyewitnesses state that Francis Lavalie intervened, advising Mary to refrain from using abusive language towards his mother.
The situation quickly deteriorated into a physical altercation, culminating in Mary allegedly stabbing Francis. Emergency services were called to the scene, and law enforcement from both Moyamba and Taiama responded promptly.
Mary Jalloh has been taken into custody for questioning, and authorities are urging anyone with more information about the incident to come forward. Meanwhile, Francis Lavalie’s body has been transported to the mortuary at Bo Government Hospital for an autopsy.
The community is in shock as they await further updates on this developing story.
