On 10th May 2026, Abacha City hosted Diamond Stars at the Approved School Field in a critical Leone Rock Premier League match.
Both teams, struggling at the bottom of the table, came into the game eager to secure vital points to avoid relegation, with Abacha City sitting 17th and Diamond Stars enduring 18th place.
The match unfolded at a slow pace, with neither side able to break through the defensive lines. The standout performer was Abacha City’s goalkeeper, Abdulai Bayoh, who made numerous key saves throughout the 90 minutes to keep a clean sheet for his team.
Despite the defensive heroics and efforts from both sides, the match ended goalless. The draw allowed Abacha City to climb slightly up the table to 16th place with 25 points, while Diamond Stars remained at the bottom with 24 points.
Diamond Stars will host Black Pool in Kono, aiming to grab a much-needed win. Meanwhile, Abacha City will welcome Freetown City to the Approved School Field in their next fixture as the fight for league survival intensifies.
