By Joseph S. Conteh

Sierra Leonean striker Wuyah Mohai has added another golden chapter to her career, helping Banaat FC capture the 2025/26 UAE Women’s Football League title in a remarkable debut season abroad.

The former Mogbwemo Queens forward, who made the bold move to the Middle East earlier this season, has quickly established herself as a key figure in Banaat FC’s title-winning campaign.

As a prolific goalscorer, she finished near the top of the league’s Golden Boot race.

Mohai’s journey from the pitches of Mogbwemo Queens to lifting trophies in the UAE exemplifies the growing influence of Sierra Leonean female footballers globally. Her success follows a trail blazed by other Sierra Leonean women who have ventured abroad to test their skills against international competition.

As Mohai celebrates this historic milestone, her success is expected to open more doors for Sierra Leonean women footballers seeking opportunities in competitive foreign leagues, further enhancing the nation’s growing reputation in women’s football.
