Mogbwemo Queens FC on Monday suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Guinean champions A.S. Bolonta in their final group-stage encounter of the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone A 2026 qualifiers.
Played at the DMC Faraba ground on Monday, August 31, 2026, the match proved one step too far for the Sierra Leonean champions, whose spirited campaign ultimately fell short against a clinical Bolonta side that dominated proceedings from start to finish.
The defeat officially draws the curtain on the Queens’ 2026 continental adventure, a journey that saw them fly the Sierra Leonean flag with pride on the regional stage, even if the final scoreline did not reflect the depth of their effort.
Speaking after the match, the management of Mogbwemo Queens FC struck a defiant and hopeful tone, emphasising that while this chapter has closed, the club’s story is far from over.
“This result brings an end to our campaign this year, but it does not end our story,” the management affirmed, signalling their determination to rebuild, regroup, and return stronger.
The Queens now shift their focus to domestic commitments and preparations for future continental campaigns, carrying with them the lessons learned from this year’s WAFU Zone A qualifiers.
