The police are on the lookout for Sallu Kemou Mansaray, a former resident of No. 19 Majidu Street in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, who has been declared wanted for planning and taking part in a protest.
He is said to be one of those who incited the August 10, 2022, demonstrations in Makeni and other parts of the country in which 31 people lost their lives.
His post as an executive official of the main opposition, All People’s Congress (APC), made him a key suspect. The government, which has accused APC of planning, financing, and orchestrating the protest, says those responsible should be arrested.
Since Sallu Kemou Mansaray was singled out for arrest and detention, he ran away from Sierra Leone to an unknown country to keep himself safe from police arrest.
Sallu Kemou Mansaray can be arrested at any time he returns home, as the Sierra Leone Police are hunting for his arrest, which still remains in force.
