The Chairman of the Northwest Region Football Association has commended the Female Premier League Board for mooting the idea of seeking Female Referees in the Northwest for the forthcoming Sierra Leone Female Premier League.
This timely move from the Female Premier League Board has seen Young Women pursuing their trade being allocated to various Female Refresher Training Sessions which span from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th of September 2022.
The unprecedented ceremony was witnessed by top officials of the Sierra Leone Football Association including the President of Referees, Instructors, members of the Female Premier League Board, and the Referees’ Manager, Franklyn Marrah among others.
Addressing the Referees after the training program, the Chairman, Northwest Region, Abdul Osman Turay said his region is keen on capacity-building programs for all categories of football discipline.
“Let me on behalf of the Northwest Region Football Association thank Madam Haja Ramatulai Kamara for the landmark she has made to the advent of the First Maiden Sierra Leone Female Premier League in the history of football in Sierra Leone”.
“This region is always ready to embrace development programs in football with open arms”.
“I am here to show support so that we will continue to provide such platforms for these young ladies who have dedicated their time to pursuing referees and this is the only way we can improve in building a formidable referees’ officiating in our leagues” Chairman Abdul Osman Turay added.
