Fourah Bay community took the lead in the 25th minute of play, when Mamoud Fofanah better known as Lampard got the opener which was due to a defensive error from Murray town community’s defenders both Issa S Kargbo and Osman Kamara.

After the break, things became difficult for Fourah Bay community, while Murray Town gained confidence from Nanny Jah who was leading the frontline for them. But he was put in check by Derosimi and Saidu M Bangura (Jones). However he and Ibrahim Bah (Dino) mounted more pressure on Fourah Bay.

In the 75th-minute, Dino beat Timbo who was playing the right back for Fourah Bay made an excellent cross and lack of communication between the goalkeeper (Mohamed Dyfan Conteh) and the center backs (Dero Simi Ibrahim and Saidu M Bangura) which led to an own goal, which was scored by Saidu M Bangura.

The match ended with a 1-1 draw

In an interview with the chairman for Fourah Bay community John Bangura, he said the performance of their team was better than their past match against Summer City.

He said because the team was composed, they were able to score, but as soon as they lost their composure, much could not be achieve.

“But we are going back to the drawing board to see how best we will be coming back for our final fixture against Peninsula, even though they are a very difficult side. But we believe our boys will definitely take us through,” he said.

Ibrahim Bah (Dino) the player of the match said he felt good to play against a big team like Fourah Bay, considering the big names in their team.

“I know this could be my time to make a mark in the COFA league. I know my performance was not magic but determination, due to effective training.

“As for our final fixture against Summer City, we are going to play football despite the big names they are having. When it comes to the pitch of playing we are all equal. We are kindly asking our fans to continue giving us their support and we will always make them proud,” he said.
