Athletics have held their election which was organized by a 7-man committee. The Director of Sports Haroun Korjie witnessed the elections, and was the one between the two parties. The incumbent was Alhaji Karim Sesay and Martin Bangura was the vice to Alhaji Karim Sesay when they went head to head. Martin Bangura won the election.
Alhaji Abdul Karim Sesay congratulated the winner Martin Bangura and they headed to Harry Yansaneh Hall at Campbell Street where they introduced their new executive to the press.
But rumours have reached the international body of athletics that there were malpractices, which has made them send a delegation to investigate the allegations.
The investigation is ongoing now. After the conclusion of the investigation, the delegation will announce who will be leading the association. Below is the meeting schedule of the delegation with local sports stakeholders.

6. Minister of sports leading NOC, CAA team Mr Karim Sesay, Mr Martin Bangura and Mr Emeric Cole, and others to the chief minister GoSl- Tuesday 18th october,2022 at 2 PM
7. CAA team briefing the press on outcome of the reconciliation mission to Sierra Leone- Wednesday 19th October,2022-10 AM.
