The secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone (NOC-SL), Joseph Nyande has started that hosting the 39th annual Secretaries General meeting of Association of National Olympic Committee of Africa (ANOCA) which will take place at Radisson Blu from the 11th-14th November 2022,this is an eye opener that will bring concerted developmental programmes to the country.
Speaking this medium,the NOC’s Secretary General said that Sierra Leone was one of the countries that bided to host the Secretaries General Meeting,where he presented their reasons for hosting the meeting and in the final analysis they succeeded adding that it’s not particularly easy but the presentation was lobbing ceremony was also good,Sierra Leone won the bid and they will now be hosting country for the 39th annual secretaries General meeting of ANOCA.
Joseph Nyande further said that the president of ANOCA Mustapha Berraf,his executive and all Secretaries General of the different countries from all the states would be here to witness the occasion.
“Normally it’s a seminar or a general assembly to hold in the presentation of ideals of the olympic Charter and this one will have to do with strategic planning implementation.
The arriving date is the 11th and the opening ceremony will be on the 12th and the 14th November 2022, will be the departing date.
The NOC Secretary General continued.”We are going to see five or six officials from the olympic solidarity who is in charge for the implementation of the programs, they have to do a presentation sporting programmes in Sierra Leone so if they come they would be able to see for themselves what is happening and they will advise us on what to do；he noted.
He also revealed that they are going to do the Olympic Headquarters “some of these guys who will be coming here would be able to put things in place so that the construction of the Olympic Headquarter in Freetown will kick start as soon as possible.
The Government through the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ministry of Sports are assisting us tremendously；they are supporting the Olympic Committee because they are supporting the development of athletes and also the national federations to participate in international competitions not only the Olympic Games, but the Commonwealth Games, All Africa Games,the Youth Games,and all other games Joseph Nyande concluded.
