The chairman Kailahun district council Sahr A. K. Lamin has called on the government and its partners to continue capturing the minds of the youth in the nation, there by diverting their attention from Temple Run and other ugly behaviors in the Country.

He made this call while addressing the youth and other stakeholders in Kailahun district at the National Youth Commission office in Kailahun town, during the handing over of equipment, furniture and other materials to the National Youth Commission office in Kailahun district.

He thanked the government and partners for making the youth positively busy in Kailahun district.

He said before now more youth in the district were going into the neighboring countries Liberia and Guinea and take part in Temple Run, but now it is a different story with the interventions of government and partners.

The Program Manager National Youth Commission Momodu Wudie in his statement disclosed that the National Youth Commission got support from UNDP, IOM, GIZ and the Government of Sierra Leone has provided equipment, furniture and other materials to the National Youth Commission office in Kailahun town for the benefit of the district.

Some of the items brought in include computers, freezers, solar panels and batteries, chairs, tables, printers, photocopies among others.

He further explained that in Kailahun district, IOM earlier did a project, which talked about stopping the risk of irregular migration through entrepreneurship promotion. The project was sensitizing the young people not to go on Temple run. One of the ways of stopping the young people of not going on Temple run is to support them with computer knowledge that will keep empowering them as the go along.
