Western Rural chairman, who is now vying for the Western Region chairmanship position, Kasho Joshua Hollande Cole, in his declaration for the said position on Friday 20th January 2023, at the All People’s Congress (APC) party headquarters, Old Railway Line Brookfields, has said without hesitation the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) will lose the country’s forthcoming elections come 24 June 2023, no matter what they do.

This is simply because everyone in the country has suffered miserably. He added that the level of hunger exposed to in the country is becoming alarming on a daily basis.

Chairman Cole continued that he has served as the Western Rural chairman in a very difficult situation of the present government and has delivered well, on that grounds, he said if he can deliver in difficult moments, he is the right man to take the mantle of leadership for the Western Region chairmanship position for his delivery during good times has no doubt. So, he has called on the people of Western Region to vote him on trial as they did in 2018, for if he does not deliver, the people should as well not hesitate to remove him.

Appreciating his supporters during the declaration process, he said the support showed to him on such an occasion speaks volume that the party wants to regain power in 2023. ” I am no stranger in the Western Area,” so he said to serve in such a capacity is no mistake for him and for the people to choose him. For what the party has been through and still going through, he said this time is a time for action. As a man who has served in the military, police force, the media and other key positions in society, he said he is not a mismatch to the position he has aspired for.

Having learnt from his predecessors in such a capacity as Regional chairperson, he said wants to emulate their good work, in fact better than what they did, he assured. With this, he said he wants to bring hope to all and sundry of not only the party but those who constitute his region, for he said the party is for all that if it wins, everyone will survive, he assured. With his leadership, he stated that the party will not lose a single seat to the ruling SLPP and not to talk of any other; for he said the party will fight a tough fight on air, sea and land diplomatically to win.

Moving forward, the Western Region chairman await, said he is disappointed in  the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) over the decision the Commission took with regard the put on hold of the party’s lower level elections for the constituency executive. ” PPRC pressed the wrong button,” he stated. He added that the timeliness of such a decision is uncalled for and should not have been warranted. He continued that PPRC has failed woefully in its mandates for he said with the plethora of political parties in the country with only one which happens to be the ruling government to have picked a flag bearer. As a commission, he said this has shown their ineptitude to serve well. He stressed that the Commission is there to serve the interest of all political parties in the country and not just few
