After Eid-Ul-Adha Prayers… Direct Aid Kenema dishes out 70 cows to the needy

An International Non-Governmental Organization, Direct Aid Sierra Leone, Kenema Center office has slaughtered and distributed seventy cows to the needy Muslim Community in the Kenema district.

Speaking to the Press at Direct Aid Kenema Center after the Eid-Ul-Adha prayer, Center Director / Mr. Mohamed Ahmed disclosed that the activity of the center is a yearly event where the organization reaches out to many needy in the communities and we are proud to assist the people of Sierra Leone.

Some community stakeholders received their quotas from DIRECT AID Kenema Center

He further revealed that the support comes from the donors from Kuwait to their brothers in Sierra Leone, but this year’s support is more remarkable than previous support. He said they have identified 20 villages and towns including Kenema city that will continue to benefit in diverse ways from Direct Aid in the areas of food, clothes, free medical outreaches & Vaccination, among others.

He said the Africa Muslim Agency now known as Direct Aid came to the South and Eastern Regions in 1992 with Kenema Center manning the two regions.

Members of the Opportunity Training Center in Kenema also benefited

He went on that, the center has provided several humanitarian assistance to the community. They have built mosques, water wells, solar & hand pumps, Quranic schools, and medical support in the South and Eastern  Region.

A beneficiary Mariama Koroma who stayed very close to the Direct Aid compound thanked Direct Aid and it’s donors for their support, adding that; she and her family have benefited a lot from Direct Aid.

Hundreds of physically challenged at the Opportunity Training Center at the back of SLBC radio Maxwell Street, School for the Blind at RTI, Amputee camps at Tissor and Hangha, and 15 villages were all beneficiaries of this year’s support from Direct Aid Kenema Center.
