Members of the Poro and Ojeh societies in Port Loko have been in a mad hunt for one Alimamy Victor Kamara, who was born at old Port Loko but resided out of the country.
According to Ajan Fofanah, who identified himself as the closest friend of Alimamy Victor Kamara, the father of Alimamy Victor Kamara, Pa-Alimamy Kamara, who was the head of the Poro and Ojeh societies at old Port Loko, died on the 10th of June 2016 at Port Loko Town.
As customs demand, our source went on to say the heir to the throne should be his eldest son, and this happens to be Alimamy Victor Kamara, who managed to escape after the burial of his father.

But the controversy that has arisen was that Alimamy Victor Kamara should, as a matter of fact, have undergone the initiation first to head both societies before assuming the throne of his late father,“ our source pointed out .
Ajan Fofanah, who spoke to this press, noted that he knows Alimamy Victor Kamara to be a very fervent Muslim, who could not associate himself with such evil traditional practices, but the Poro and Ojeh Societies members are in desperate search of Alimamy Victor Kamara, whose continued absence to fill this sacred responsibility could amount to problems between the society members and their ancestors.
It is on this note that Mr. Kamara highlighted that their family has been subjected to constant harassment and intimidation with a view to producing Alimamy Victor Kamara to come home and take over his late father’s role. His eldest son Sheka Victor Kamara is nowhere to be seen due to threat to his life from the two secret societies.
According to our sources, Alimamy Victor Kamara last visited Sierra Leone in 2016 after the death of his father in Port Loko, where he was able to escape when he heard the news of his kidnapping to join the two societies as a replacement due to the death of his father.
It is against this backdrop that his closest friend made an official police report of harassment and threats to his life and that of their entire family on Tuesday, the 18th of August, 2023, to the Police Criminal Investigations Department, Wellington Police Division, east of the capital, Freetown.
Our source concluded that since 2016 to date, the two societies in Port Loko are still hunting for Alimamy Victor Kamara, who is presently out of the country at an unknown destination.
Further to that, since Alimamy Victor Kamara is married to a Ukrainian with twin children, a male and a female, this poses another implication for Alimamy Victor Kamara. His son is particularly vulnerable, as he will also be expected by the custom of these societies to replace his father, Alimamy Victor Kamara, at his demise.
Knowing that Alimamy Victor Kamara has a biological son has added another predicament to the frantic manhunt.
