The closing ceremony in Ghana, where 52 countries participated in the 13th edition of the All African Games, happened on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at the Games Village. Sierra Leone was one of the countries involved in the ceremony.

Before raising the flags, local authorities from Accra, including the Paramount Chief, the Mayor, and others, performed cultural rituals to honor their ancestors and seek blessings for the competition. The Paramount Chief emphasized the importance of respecting their culture and ancestors, regardless of religious differences.

The ceremony began with the raising of each country’s flag, accompanied by the national anthem played by a military band. A local member then fired a ceremonial gun.
The Mayor of Accra, Hon.Elizabeth Naa Kwatsoe Tawiah Sackey, welcomed all 52 countries and presented them with special gifts as a token of appreciation for their participation in the All African Games.
