Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah has completed the prestigious Archbishop Tutu Leadership Fellowship. The six-month-long fellowship is one of the most competitive intellectual ventures on the continent.

The fellowship, which is run by the Africa Leadership Institute, brings together emerging leaders in Africa while incorporating a combination of theory, the sharing of experiences by successful leaders, experiential learning, varied practical applications, and assignments, all conducted in an Oxford-style tutorial environment.

Minister Bah said the fellowship, which started in Cape Town and ended in London, has challenged and “re-energized” him to do more for his country in his role as a minister.

“My battery has been more than recharged—it’s been repurposed and regenerated,” he wrote on his Facebook wall while adding, “I’m ready. I am—as one of the fellows put it, “my ancestors wildest dreams.” And I’m ready to live the dream by doing what I have been tasked to do—as best as I can!“

Minister Bah’s latest achievement is part of a trend of success he has achieved all his life, from leading movements for social change as a teenager to becoming part of the most youthful cabinet in the history of Sierra Leone in his prime. Minister Bah specifically praised President Bio for his role in this latest achievement.

“The absolute honor of working for a boss—President Julius Maada Bio—who not only allowed me to embark on this journey but supported and inspired me throughout.”

In his role as a Minister, Chernor Bah, he is delivering on the President’s vision of expanding the civic space and fostering dialogue between citizens and government.
