Abdul Karim Bangura, the assistant head coach of the East End Lions, has carved an impressive coaching career that has propelled Sierra Leone’s soccer scene to new heights. Bangura’s journey began with community football, where he served as the coach for Calaba Town for five seasons, winning four trophies. His prowess as a coach caught the attention of FC Kallon, where he joined the backroom staff during the 2018-2019 Sierra Leone Premier League seasons.
Bangura’s impact on Sierra Leonean football extends beyond the domestic league. He has also served as the coach for Freetonian SLIFA and the fitness coach for the Sierra Leone U20 team, which recently qualified for the 2025 U20 competition in Morocco. Bangura’s dedication and expertise have been instrumental in developing the next generation of Sierra Leonean soccer stars.
As the assistant head coach of the East End Lions, Bangura played a pivotal role when the team competed in the prestigious Confederation Cup, showcasing his ability to lead on the international stage.
