In a recent matchup between SV Huizen and Ajax B in Amsterdam, Sierra Leonean-Dutch defender Samba Will demonstrated his prowess on the pitch. The talented right-back, who is of Sierra Leonean and Dutch descent, played a key role in his team’s 1-1 draw against the Eredivisie club’s reserve squad.
Will’s impressive performance has now caught the attention of the Sierra Leone national team, as he is eyeing a potential call-up for the upcoming AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Chad and Zambia. However, the footballer’s passport issues will need to be resolved before he can represent the country of his heritage.
“It would be an honor to play for the Sierra Leone national team,” said Will. “I’m hoping to get the opportunity to showcase my skills and contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming qualifiers, but first, I need to ensure that my passport situation is sorted out.”
The 22-year-old’s performance in the draw against Ajax B has only bolstered his chances of earning a call-up, as Sierra Leone’s coaching staff continues to monitor the progress of players with ties to the country. With his combination of skill, pace, and defensive awareness, Samba Will could prove to be a valuable asset for the Leone Stars in their quest to secure a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
