Each skills-at-arms team will be assessed on the following practices: rifle march, pistol march, close quarter battle march, march and shoot, GPMG march, and falling plates march.
VII. In the Administrative Instruction released by Major General Dauda Alpha (the Commander Joint Force), the objectives of the twin competition are: (1) to develop the potential of a soldier as an individual and part of a team; (2) to produce a self-confident soldier that is physically fit and equipped with basic skills and fighting qualities needed to survive in the battlefield; (3) to help a soldier achieve swift reaction and fire accurately to suppress and kill an enemy with his rifle from all combat positions; and (4) to ensure continuity of training and prevent skills from fading.
VIII. Major General Alpha disclosed that nine awards will be given out at the end of the competition as follows:
(1). Best Pistol Firer
(2). Best Female Firer
(3). Best Male Firer
(4). Best Patrol Commander

X. Major General Alpha clarified that the participation of the above-named institutions will be limited to the skills-at-arms exercise only. “The competition, which will also attract the participation of these senior government officials on a non-scoring basis, will improve individual tactfulness and build better team cohesion among the participating institutions,” Major General Alpha concluded.
