The Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, publicly apologized to Sierra Leoneans for the national team’s failure to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Dr. Abdulai expressed his remorse on a media program, extending the apology on behalf of the Ministry of Sports and the NSA.

During his statement, Dr. Abdulai thanked the government of His Excellency Retired Brigadier Dr. Julius Maada Bio for their continuous financial and moral support to the sports sector.

The apology serves as a gesture of accountability and appreciation, recognizing the disappointment felt by the nation following Leone Stars’ inability to participate in the prestigious AFCON tournament.
