In a closely contested election, Sahr Morris Jr. has been re-elected as the president of the Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone for a second term. Morris secured 75 votes, narrowly defeating his opponent, Ishmail Saidu Kanu, who received 70 votes.
The race for the position of Vice President was equally competitive, with Sheku Turay emerging victorious by defeating the incumbent, Mohamed Lamrana Bah, with a vote count of 73 to 72.
Both Ishmail Saidu Kanu and Mohamed Lamrana Bah have called on the members of the association to embrace each other and work together in the best interest of the organization.
The election marks a significant milestone for the Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone, as it continues to shape the landscape of sports journalism in the country. The new leadership team is poised to build on the association’s achievements and drive forward initiatives that will further elevate the profession and its impact on the sports community.
