Abu Sesay, a middle-aged timber retailer residing in the East-end of Freetown, has made headlines as the latest winner of the Mercury International Bookmaker product, walking away with an astounding total of Six Hundred and Fifty-Five Thousand New Leones (655,000,000 old Leones) from just a Nle 10 stake.

Sesay’s remarkable win stemmed from betting Nle 5 on 15 teams across two tickets, capitalizing on the half with the most goals option. After the mandatory 15% government tax, he took home a phenomenal Nle 556,000 (Five Hundred and Fifty-Six Million Old Leones).

In a strong statement about his success, Sesay declared that, despite prior winnings, this is unequivocally the biggest win of his life since he began betting with Mercury International in 2017. He expressed, “This has always been my formula for football betting, and my emotions today are beyond words.”

Sesay is thrilled and eager to invest some of his winnings to enhance his business. He also praised Mercury International for its promptness in delivering his winnings and urged sceptics to take a chance with the bookmaker.

Sabieu Mansaray, the Marketing Strategist for Mercury International’s Sports Betting and Lottery Company, congratulated Sesay for becoming the company’s first major winner of 2025. He emphasized that the winner capitalized on the company’s bonus for bets involving five or more teams.

“We at Mercury International are proud to see winners emerge consistently. This is our commitment, and it serves as a strong message to others that we are dedicated to creating millionaires every day,” Mansaray stated. He advised Sesay to manage the funds wisely and to leverage them for transformative changes in his life.
