The Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) is in intensive training mode as they prepare for four major international competitions in 2025.
The competitions include the Nigeria Women’s T20 tournament, the ICC Men’s U-19 World Cup qualifier, the Botswana T20 international, and the ICC T20 World Cup Africa division two qualifiers.
Coach Seneh Kamara stated that the U-19 team recently finished third in Rwanda and is now focused on these upcoming events. The association is facing challenges, and they need the support from the government.
To help with preparation, the association has partnered with coach John Jenner from India, who is currently in Sierra Leone working with the cricketers and coaches. The association is calling on the government of Sierra Leone to provide support and aid to ensure the national teams can fully participate in these international competitions. Despite the challenges the Sierra Leone Cricket Association is optimistic about the talent of their cricketers and their chances of success in the tournaments.
The association is facing challenges such as a lack of kits and training facilities, but they are determined to field competitive teams.
