In a momentous occasion for the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), ten referees and assistant referees were bestowed with prestigious FIFA badges during an official presentation ceremony held on Thursday, 13th February 2025, at the SLFA Secretariat in Kingtom, Freetown. The group comprises six male referees and four female referees, symbolizing a commitment to gender diversity in officiating roles.
Led by Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh, the SLFA expressed their pride in the referees’ achievement and emphasized the importance of upholding integrity and excellence in international matches. These newly badge officials are now poised to represent Sierra Leone on the global stage, showcasing the country’s talent and dedication to advancing refereeing standards.
The list of FIFA-badged referees for 2025 includes seasoned referees.
Center Referees:
Humu Marah, Sulaiman Santio Kamara, Rashid Mohamed Conteh, Aminata Fullah, and Mohamed Buzin Koroma. Assistant Referees: Fatmata Mansaray, Agnes Gbla, Sahr Abdulai Freeman, Mahmoud Alie Conteh, and Alusine Conteh, highlighting the inclusive nature of the selection process. This milestone serves as a testament to the continuous growth and progress of refereeing in Sierra Leone, setting the stage for increased recognition and success in international competitions.
