The newly appointed coach of the Sierra Leone national football team, Mohamed Kallon, has invited 25 players to commence preparations ahead of the country’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Guinea Bissau and Egypt in March.
The training camp is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 18, at the SLFA Academy in Kingtom, Freetown. All invited home-based players are expected to report to the camp on or before the start of the training sessions.
Coach Kallon, a former Sierra Leonean international player, took over the reins of the Leone Stars in February, and this will be his first major tournament as the team’s head coach. The upcoming World Cup Qualifiers are seen as a crucial step in Sierra Leone’s journey to secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
I’m excited to work with this group of players, and I’m confident that we can put up a good performance in the upcoming qualifiers, said Kallon. We have a talented squad, and I’m looking forward to seeing them in action as we prepare for the challenges ahead.
The Leone Stars will face Guinea Bissau and Egypt in March as they seek to secure a spot in the next round of the World Cup Qualifiers. Fans and supporters of the national team are eagerly anticipating the team’s performance and are hopeful that the Leone Stars can make a strong showing on the international stage.
