The Sierra Leone national senior team, the Leone Stars, have safely arrived in Monrovia, Liberia, ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Guinea Bissau on Thursday, March 20, at the SKD Sports Complex.
The delegation includes a strong squad of 17 home-based players, as well as veteran MLS striker Kei Kamara. The team has been undergoing intensive training at the SLFA Academy in Freetown over the past few weeks, preparing for the high-stakes encounter.
In addition to the home-based contingent, the Leone Stars will be bolstered by the arrival of 8 foreign-based players, including the highly rated France-based defensive talent Juma Bah, who is set to join the squad in Monrovia.
The team’s safe arrival in Liberia marks an important milestone as they gear up for the crucial World Cup qualifier against their West African rivals, Guinea Bissau.
