In a celebration of extraordinary individuals making a difference in the world, National Geographic has unveiled its inaugural ‘National Geographic 33’ list. This dynamic lineup highlights 33 visionaries whose imaginative ideas and unstoppable drive are working to create a better future.
From Hollywood heavyweights to fearless scientists, climate warriors to trailblazing entrepreneurs, the National Geographic 33 encompasses a diverse range of innovators and icons. Their work spans saving our winters, advocating for mental health, revolutionizing sustainable fashion, and much more.

Among the honorees are Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, the mayor of Freetown, and Eugenia Kargbo, the chief health officer, both recognized for their impressive efforts to protect their city from the climate emergency.
For more than 137 years, National Geographic has been driven by the belief that bold thinking and collective action can change the world, said Courteney Monroe, president of National Geographic Content. National Geographic 33 represents an exciting milestone for us as it embodies the very essence of our brand—sharing the stories of extraordinary individuals whose work is making a meaningful impact in the hope of inspiring others to help shape a better future.

The inaugural National Geographic 33 class includes a range of changemakers working across fields from botany to film and space exploration to humanitarian aid. Collectively, they have raised and distributed millions for climate action, social equality, scientific research, and more.
Other honorees include actor and advocate Jason Momoa, actress, singer, and philanthropist Selena Gomez, outdoor adventurer Pattie Gonia, and professional snowboarder Jeremy Jones, among many others.
By shining a light on these remarkable individuals, National Geographic hopes to spark curiosity, inspire deeper connections to our world, and encourage others to join in creating positive change.
