Sierra Leone’s Aminata Fullah has been invited by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to take part in a specialized training program ahead of the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.
Fullah, one of the top central referees in the country, will attend the WAFCON Preparation Course in Egypt from May 25th to 29th, 2025. The course is designed to equip match officials with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure high-quality officiating at the prestigious continental women’s football competition.
“I am honored and excited to have been chosen by CAF for this important course,” said Fullah. “This is a great opportunity for me to learn from the best and further develop my skills as a referee. I look forward to representing Sierra Leone and making my country proud at the upcoming WAFCON tournament.”
The WAFCON Preparation Course will cover various aspects of refereeing, including match management, decision-making, and the application of the laws of the game. Participants will also receive training on VAR (Video Assistant Referee) technology, which is expected to be utilized at the WAFCON for the first time.
