The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has released the final results of the run-off election for the Paramount Chieftaincy in Makama Chiefdom, Port Loko District. After a closely contested race, PC Bai Kama Ànthinkie III has been declared the duly elected Paramount Chief.
The runoff election, held at the Makankay Community Centre, saw two candidates vying for the prestigious traditional leadership role. Conteh Abdul Alhaji secured 260 votes, while Koroma Salifu Bai received 257 votes.

Out of 520 total votes cast, 517 were valid and 3 were invalid, as recorded and verified by the presiding officer, Kandeh Kam, and witnessed by accredited observers including Brima Kallay and Omar M. Kamara.
The results are provisional pending official announcement by the Provincial Secretary, but the tight margin of just three votes reflects the high level of engagement and competitive spirit within the chiefdom.

PC Bai Kama Ànthinkie III is now expected to take up the mantle of traditional leadership and spearhead development initiatives for the people of Makama Chiefdom.
