A national nongovernmental organization, Grassroots Action for Community Empowerment and Sustainable Development—Sierra Leone (GrACESD-SL), with funding from UNICEF, has ended a day of institutional triggering engagement meetings with key stakeholders in the district at the Kenema District Council conference hall along Nyandeyama Road in Kenema.

The Executive Director of GRACESD-SL, Mohamed Sheriff, disclosed that the aim of the engagement is to inform the district stakeholders about the project outputs and activities that will be implemented in this project.
He noted that the title of the project is ‘’Improving Access to Climate Resilient Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Services.’’ The Government of the Republic of Korea funds this project, with UNICEF serving as the implementing agency and GrACESD-SL as the implementing partner.

The Development Planning Officer Kenema District Council, Seibatu Koroma, who represented the chairperson of the council, Madam Frances Musu Jambawai, in her keynote address, thanked GrACESD-SL for their move in ensuring that everything about the project implementation is being made known to all stakeholders as a means of enhancing transparency and accountability.
She called on other partners to always do likewise to avoid duplication of projects and misplacement of resources, adding the door of the council is widely open to accommodate all and sundry, especially development partners and individuals.
