President Bio Announces New Appointments at Key National Agencie

The Government of Sierra Leone has announced new appointments to several national institutions, following approval by President Julius Maada Bio. The announcement was made through a public notice from the Office of the President at State House on 30 October 2025.

According to the statement signed by Barba B. Fortune, Secretary to the President, the following individuals have been appointed, subject to parliamentary approval where necessary:

Mr. John V. Rogers – Director General, National Disaster Management Agency

Sulaiman B. Sowa (Esq.) – Deputy Director General, National Disaster Management Agency

Dr. Susan Roberts – Deputy Commissioner, National Commission for Social Action

Mr. Noah Mansaray – Chairman, Sierra Leone National Shipping Agency

Mr. Gideon Gbappy – Board Member, Sierra Leone National Shipping Agency

The appointments reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen key public institutions responsible for disaster management, social welfare, and maritime operations.

The newly appointed officials are expected to bring experience and leadership to their respective roles, supporting national development and effective service delivery.
