Mogbwemo Queens, the two-time champions of the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League, have emerged victorious in the highly anticipated 2025 SLFA Women’s Unity Cup. In a tightly contested match, they defeated the defending league champions, Ram Kamara FC, in a nerve-wracking penalty shootout after the match ended 1–1 at full time.
The match was graced by the presence of prominent people from the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), including President Babadi Kamara, Vice Presidents Alie Badara Tarawallie and Prince Kai Saquee, several regional football association chairpersons and the Chairperson of the Women’s Premier League Board, Hon. Rachel Mariatu Pessima.
The Unity Cup serves as the traditional curtain-raiser for the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League, set to kick off on 15th November 2025. Mogbwemo Queens’ triumph in this prestigious event sets the stage for an exciting and highly anticipated league season, as they aim to defend their league title and cement their status as one of the dominant forces in Sierra Leonean women’s football.
