Marampa Mines Limited, a prominent mining company, has made a generous donation of US$150,000 to the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League (SLWPL) to boost the development and growth of women’s football in the country.
Craig Dean, the chairman of Marampa Mines Limited, expressed his excitement about the initiative, stating, “I love women’s football and couldn’t say no to the SLFA’s proposal.” The donation is a testament to the company’s commitment to supporting and promoting women’s sports in Sierra Leone.
The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, praised the generous gesture, calling it a “huge boost” for the development of women’s football in the country. The funds will be used to enhance the infrastructure, training facilities, and overall support for the Women’s Premier League.
The donation is a novelty in Sierra Leone football because this is the first time we are having such support.
