The Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, recently met with his predecessor, Alimamy A. Kamara, in the northern city of Makeni. The visit came during Minister Sannoh’s inspection of a project by the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) involving bike riders.

According to the ministry, the meeting was a “courtesy call” meant to strengthen teamwork across generations and political lines. Minister Sannoh praised Kamara’s time in office, saying his work laid a strong foundation for current youth programmes. He also stressed that youth development should go beyond politics and unite leaders old and new.

Mr Kamara welcomed the outreach and applauded the current minister’s engagement with young people from different backgrounds. He offered his full support to the ministry’s plans going forward.

Both leaders agreed on the need for cooperation to fight drug abuse, unemployment and youth exclusion in the country. They pledged to work together for peace, productivity and patriotism among young Sierra Leoneans.
