The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has confirmed that its Vice-President II, Prince Saquee, has been selected by FIFA to serve as Match Commissioner for the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Zone play-offs.
In this role, Prince Saquee will oversee two major fixtures. The first is the match between Nigeria national football team and Gabon national football team on 13 November 2025 at the C.S. Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco. The second is the final showdown of the tournament on 16 November 2025, at the same venue.
The appointment is a mark of recognition for Saquee’s work in football administration and for Sierra Leone’s growing presence in continental and global football governance. The SLFA said it is proud of his achievement and remains committed to supporting Sierra Leonean officials in international roles.
Saquee’s new position places him at the heart of one of the most important stages in the African qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup — a chance for teams to secure their place on the world’s largest football stage. His leadership in these matches will help ensure that the games are managed to high standards of fairness, security and professionalism.
