The Magistrate Court in Mile 91 has committed Mohamed Thullah, CEO of Himma Fashion Boutique, to the High Court for trial on allegations of unlawful possession of prohibited drugs. The ruling was delivered on November 10, 2025, by Magistrate Harold Kamara.
Thullah stands charged with Possession of a Prohibited Drug Without Lawful Authority, contrary to Section 8(a) of the National Drugs Control Act of 2008. He was allegedly found in possession of:
– 16 plastics of Opium (Kush)
– 13 cards of Tramadol Hydrochloride Tablets (Tramadol)
The prosecution, led by Sub Inspector I.F. Bangura Esq. on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, presented several exhibits, including:
1. Exhibits A1–A2: Written report of arresting officer PC 12149 Sesay M.
2. Exhibits B1–B7: Voluntary cautioned statements.
3. Exhibits C1–C5: The defendant’s own cautioned statement, in which he admitted the allegations and stated that he used the substances for survival as part of his business.
4. Exhibits D1–D2: Charge statement of the defendant, confirming the allegations.
5. Exhibits D1–D16: Sixteen packets of suspected Kush and a pair of scissors allegedly found in his possession.
6. Exhibits E1–E13: Thirteen cards of Tramadol tablets.
Magistrate Kamara ruled that the prosecution had established a prima facie case, stating, “I hereby rule that the prosecution has adduced sufficient evidence that has raised more than a prima facie case to be answered by the defendant on trial.”
Thullah has been remanded at the Moyamba Correctional Centre, pending further direction or the granting of bail by the High Court. The matter now awaits its next stage in the High Court, where the accused will respond to the charges.
