Cambridge United fell just short of a dramatic comeback against Birmingham City, ultimately losing 3-2.
The visitors found themselves in a difficult position after goals from K. Wagner and K. Furuhashi had put Birmingham 2-0 up early in the first half.
However, Sullay Kaikai sparked hope for Cambridge with a well-taken brace.
Despite their best efforts, Cambridge were unable to find the equaliser that would have forced extra time, and it was Birmingham who ultimately prevailed.
While Kaikai’s double had given Cambridge a glimmer of hope, it wasn’t enough to prevent Birmingham from securing progression to the next round of the FA Cup competition.
